Benefits of Cardio Training
Being fit and healthly never goes out of fashion. Your body is your most precious asset - it needs to be kept fit and healthy and generally looked after.
Cardio training is a sure way to make sure that you maintain your health and well being.
What Is Cardio Training?
Cardio training is the use of your large muscle groups in a regular and consistent manner. Your heart rate is raised to between 60 and 85% of the fastest heart rate you could get.
Cardio training activities include aerobics, cycling, jogging, tae-bo, swimming, rowing and walking. Moving from one exercise to another is what makes cardio training an aerobic exercise.
What Are the Benefits of Training?
1. Gives Energy to the Body - If you exercise regularly using cardio training you will have more energy and have a higher endurance to exercise.
2. Prevents Diseases - Regular cardio training is proven to prevent heart disease. It is also able to prevent or control other diseases such as diabetes, obesity and high cholesterol. Cardio training improves the heart and lungs. Simple cardio exercises such as a regular walk, brisk walk or jogging is all that is needed to help prevent diseases.
3. Control Your Weight - You can burn more calories with cardio training which will help with weight loss. If you have already reached your ideal weight, continued training with assist in controlling your weight.
You should, however, consult a doctor before starting a cardio training program to lose weight. Cardio training does help to burn calories but you will need to know what type of training to undertake to suit your needs best.
4. Lose Body Fats - For some, weight is not an issue but rather excess fats. Cardio training will focus on these by you undertaking movements of large muscle groups. You will be trimmer and more toned by training regularly.
5. Get Rid of Boredom - Cardio training is fun! You will feel able to get up and go and be generally more energetic.
Recommendations to Better Enjoy the Benefits of Cardio Training
If you need to make health improvements, cardio training is essential. 3 to 5 times a week complete the 30-45 minutes exercises. To maximise weight loss you will need to do the training 5 times a week. The more times you do it the more likely it is that they weight will come off, but remember don't exhaust yourself. Don't go over the 45 minute program but more importantly do the exercise plan on a regular basis.
Set a goal and stick to it - start now - get up and walk around the block or cycle to the shops, get that aerobics DVD out. Change your diet now too - eat healthily!
Intensify your training program as your fitness level increases. There will always be room for improvement and also it adds to the variation of the program. Make sure that you set yourself challenges so you don't get bored. When walking or running, increase the speed every 5 minutes for at least a minute or two.
Don't do cardio exercises before bedtime. Your energy levels will be high for a time and you will probably have difficulty sleeping.
If you are weight training too, do the cardio exercies after - not before.
Don't train on an empty stomach - eat a healthy snack around 30 minutes before you start your cardio exercises. You need energy to be able to keep going but don't have a large meal - give your body just what it needs to keep on with the exhausting movements.
Do your cardio programe outside if possible. You will feel more refreshed in the fresh air and you can enjoy your surroundings too. If you are travelling you'll probably make friends on the way round and get to know your neighbourhood better.
The only way that cardio training will enhance your body and help you to be healthy is to be consistent and stick with the training when you have started.
