Health conscious people run for cover when oils and fats are mentioned. What they forget is that there are good fats and bad fats. The complete avoidance of oils and fats is actually bad rather than good for their health.

Part of our daily diet should always include essential fatty acids. If we don't we are risking our health completely. Omega 6 EFAs and Omega 3 EFAs are the two essential fatty acid families which must be a part of our diets.
Even though there is only a small difference between the two types of of essential fatty acids, studies have found that too much Omega 6 EFAs can lead to problems with inflammation, blood clotting and tumor growth. However, the opposite is found for Omega 3 EFAs. Omega 6 EFAs are found in vegetable oils and Omega 3 EFAs are found in fish oils.

It has been proved by doctors and scientists alike that the cause of heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, premature aging and some forms of cancer is an inbalance of Omega 3 and Omega 6.
Omega 6 EFAs can be found in vegetable oils, including, but not limited to, corn and soy oil, both of which contain large amounts of linoleic acid. Omega 3 EFAs are also found in marine plankton, walnuts and flaxseed oils. It is also important to mention that Omega 3 EFAs that are found in fatty fish and fish oils contain eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid have been found to provide many beenfits on the human body.
A study on Greenland Eskimos, in the 1970's revealed that the reason they rarely suffer from heart diseases is because of their high fat diet which is mainly composed of fish.
EPA and DHA are the two essential fatt acids helpful in preventing heart attacks, some forms of cancer and depression. Food supplemented with fish oil have also been proved to treat illnesses sch as rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, Raynaud's disease and ulcerative colitis.

One of the most important part of your body is your heart and having an unhealthy one means you may suffer a severely limited lifespan. Keeping our heats healthy is in our best interests to keep them and us happy and healthly. Eating food that contains fish oils is one way of assisting this.
A study in Greece has shown that people who ate more fish had a lower level of C reactive protein and interleukin 6 which is commonly used to measure the likelihood of blood vessel inflammation. These benefits remained when the risks associated with a high fish diet were taken into account.

According to a study held in Australia, eating fish can be used to fight high blood pressure and obesity. Weight loss which included a diet of regular meals including fish can be effective in reducing blood pressure problems and improving glucose tolerance.
Fish Oil to Combat Asthma
Asthma suffers are sometimes perceived as unhealthy. Some studies have revealed that there are benefits for individuals suffering from asthma. Results show that 20-25% of children suffer from one form of asthma and evidence shows that a regular diet of food with a high linoleic acid content is the reason for it.
Researchers of the University of Wyoming studied two groups of children, one group on a high fish diet and the other with their regular diet. Those children who were on the high fish diet were less prone to asthma attacks and were able to breathe easier too.
