You have to do exercise yourself. It's not possible for anyone else to do it for you. Motivation is a key factor to changing your lifestyle and to losing weight.
It sounds easy but if it was there wouldn't be so many people overweight.
There is usually an excellent reason to lose weight. Some are down to physical condition and fitness or you just want to improve your appearance. Either way it's not too late to start.
At technology increases and helps us with our day to day activities we become lazy. 50 years ago most people walked to work and there certainly weren't the machines there are today doing all the heavy lifting, pushing and pulling.
This should not excuse us from becoming lazy. We seem to believe that we are going to gain weight whatever we do and we don't take the correct steps to prevent it early on.
Dieticians believe that it is difficult for people to stay motivated. For some reason it is easy to go back to our unhealthy lifestyles even though we enjoyed our low fat food and exercising.
But, you can stop it from happening. Remember all the good reasons to stop gaining those excess pounds. These reasons shouldn't just be about vanity or appearance. It is important for our lives to keep motivated to exercise and stay healthy to increase our life expectancy.
How to Lose Big
1. Have an explicit goal
A broad statement like, 'I want to lose some weight', is at the bottom of the motivation pile. You need to decide exactly how much weight you want to lose and list it pound by pound. Think about how you will look when you do reach your target weight loss. Just think how you will look in that party dress you wanted. What would it be like to lose more than your target weight and have that figure you always wanted. Keep this in the forefront of your mind at all times to keep you dedicated.
2. Develop a strategy
Will power helps but it won't work on it's own. To lose weight and keep it off you will need to combine exercise and diet. Just using one, won't work to keep the weight off.
A good motivation exercise is to throw away all your clothes in bigger sizes. Keep the ones that fit and some that are smaller. Keep trying the smaller ones on and when you fit into them get rid of the big ones again - keep this going until you reach your target weight/size.
3. Be confident
Change your lifestyle and put into practice actions that will suit it. It has to be something that you will benefit from - no-one else.
Take the positive approach - don't be the shy chubby person anymore.
4. Produce monitoring that has an important effect
If you have someone to help you stay motivated this is great. Positive comments on how you are achieving your goal is definitely a winner. Sometimes just being able to tell someone of your achievements is motivation in itself. It is someone else who believes in you and can help you continue to be motivated.
5. Construct a sensible timeline
Plot a sensible timeline - don't expect results immediately. It may take a year it may take more - it may even take less. Be realistic with your objectives but at the same time don't give yourself too much time.
Staying motivated isn't easy and requires hard work. You must want to change your lifestyle in order for the weight to be lost and for you to achieve your goal weight.
