Anti Aging Nutrition Part 2

We'd all like to look and feel younger than we actually are. None of us want wrinkles, serious age related illnesses or memory loss. Anti-aging nutrition is a major contributing factor to slowing down the aging process. Anti-aging antioxidants which are contained in our diet is one solution.

Fruit and vegetables are rich in antioxidants such as vitamins C and E, beta carotene and selenium. Antioxidants fight the free radicals in the body. Free radicals are the major cause of attacks on proteins, cell membranes and the cell genetic code of our body and it is these that cause premature aging and diseases.

Antioxidants protect the brain and the nervous system from oxidative damages that are linked with age-related memory loss. Antiaging nutrition prevents premature aging and diseases. Fruit and vegetables rich in vitamin C are one example of an antiaging nutrition based diet. Citrus fruits, green leafy vegetables, strawberries, green pepper, potatoes and raw cabbage are also rich in vitamin C.

Vitamin E which also helps the delaying process of aging-Wheat germ, seeds, vegetable oil, whole grains, green leafy vegetable, fish oil and nuts are an excellent source of vitamin E. Beta carotene rich fruits and vegetables include carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, cantaloupe melon, apricots, peaches, collards, kale and tomatoes. Selenium is a mineral that helps fight cell damage and is also known to prevent cancer. Garlic, chicken, eggs, red meat, grains, fish and shell fish are know to be good sources of selenium. Be aware, however that selenium is toxic when taken in large doses of the supplement form.

Blueberries and strawberries are full antioxidants, which make them a perfect antiaging nutrition, improving your short term memory and the general balance and coordination of the body. The boy naturally produces free radicals and it is important to have enough supply of antioxidants in the body for it to cope. Remember that nutrients that come from plants are important in antiaging nutrition. They have a series of chemical components called phytochemicals and phytonutrients. These components give huge benefits to the skin and for general beauty and appearance.

As your body gets older it becomes less able to processess the nutrients efficiently. Therefore the body needs extra help in getting more nutrients to help the aging process. Women should increase their calcium intake to prevent osteoporosis and men should take advantage of the immune enhancing effects of antioxidants, by increasing the vitamin C and vitamin E intake to prevent prostate cancer.

There are many antiaging nutrition supplements available in health food stores and chemists these days. It is important to consult your doctor so that you will have the antiaging nutrition supplements that your body needs.
